Would like to write reviews for your apps (free)
JUM Error 106
Only thing you can do (and I hope you had a data backup) is to run JL_CMDER to try and completely wipe it out, then follow the instructions here - Latest OS: 9700 5.0.0.1655/5.0.0.1014 (East Asia + English) - to download and reload the OS to the 9700.
JL_CMDER can be found here -> Latest OS: 9700 5.0.0.1655/5.0.0.1014 (East Asia + English)
Good luck...

Export Contacs and Calendar in handset (not using company server) TO Outlook
I would like to know how to export my calendar, tasks and contact list from my Blackberry terminal to Outlook.
I do not have any email accounts on Outlook. I just have a personal folder with old emails from my previous corporate email account, but no email account set up in Outlook.
Thank you!

Playbook videochat connection problem
I have been using Videochat for over a month now, from my wireless high speed internet access. Ive talked to people on high speed connections as well. We all have experienced, from time to time, instances where when trying to connect to someone else, we get the message that the other person is not available, even though we know for a fact that they are and that the do not disturb is off.
Any idea what this might be? Ive tried two different routers, changed the encryption settings, channels and firewall, but not to avail...
This is making it a lot less reliable a tool when you have to call the person first to know if they pb is on...
Thanks in advance...

How to delete old email accounts from handset (email account management not working)
I had three email accounts set up in my bb. After several sim card changes and my corporate account being cancelled, I see the email accounts' icons (gmail, hotmail, corporate) but they don't synchronize.
When I try to edit the accounts with the Email Account Manager, I get the following message: "Your device had a problem connecting to the server", and I can't delete any of the old accounts.
Does anyone know how to get around this issue?
Thanks a lot!!!

Drunk RIM execs handcuffed to seats, force Air Canada to make emergency landi
?Based on the limited information available at this time, RIM has suspended the individuals involved pending further investigation,? RIM spokeswoman Marissa Conway said in a statement.
One of the arresting officers said the incident stands out because the plane had to divert so far off of its flight path. ?They were far too intoxicated and were just being unruly. The flight crew was asking them to smarten up, but they weren?t listening to anything they were being told,? Corporal Sherrdean Turley said.
The two RIM employees have been banned from flying on Air Canada during a probation period. The flight they were on was forced to switch crews airline regulations, and it landed in Beijing 18 hours behind schedule.

RIM Rolling Out Incremental Twitter v1.0.1.12 Update
RIM usually does not roll out incremental updates unless there are some bugs that need squashing or compatibility updates. The latest update to v1.0.1.12 is just incrementally higher than the previously leaked v1.0.1.11 but a tiny bit higher than the previous official v1.0.1.7. As usual RIM does not even use their own change log update notification feature in App World. I am sure Mike Lazaridis is screaming in his office about all of the data wasted by what may simply be an unnecessary upgrade for most users… ![]()
You should get a notification in App World soon about the update but alternatively it should be available at www.BlackBerry.com/twitter. I can confirm it was there for me on my BlackBerry Torch.

Foursquare for BlackBerry Beta v1.9.66 Released

After a few Alpha releases throughout yesterday and today Foursquare has released a new Beta build v1.9.66. A few serious issues cropped up in the previous beta build and this version supposedly implements the fixes found in the Alpha release. Otoniel over @PocketBerry managed to snag the following change log:
Resolution of no visible response for adding tip/todoShows venue mayor on venue pageResolves bug where “add photo” option missing if no photos present for that venueChanges in localization welcome message to show blackberry hard key iconResolution of screen lock up issue after login on some devicesResolution of checkin results lock up issue on some devicesResolution of “send to twitter/facebook” not showingUI fix with viewing photos on a smaller deviceLandscape/Portrait rotational fix on some touch devicesYou can pick up the latest beta of Foursquare for BlackBerry at this link
RIM Releases News Feeds v1.0.1 in Beta Zone
North American BlackBerry Beta Zone users were welcomed to a new Beta update for News Feeds for BlackBerry today. The new version 1.0.1 fixes a bunch of bugs along with some new additions. Nothing major here but you can see a full list below:
What’s new in this build?
When viewing a feed, or viewing All Unread Items, you can now delete all prior articlesWhen viewing a feed, or viewing All Unread Items, you can now mark the list of items as readIf you swipe left or right in a feed, the screen now moves to the previous or next item in the feedYou can now zoom in on images and text in feed items.New message, wireless network, and battery (while charging) indicators appear in the app’s header. What’s been fixed?
BBID login issues for email address with 30+ characters, and passwords with a "+"Pressing space bar did not jump a page in items viewFeed favicons have been restored[All unread items] showed 0 unread items when there were unread items on the device. When hitting ‘u’ shortcut key for next unread, it took you to another feed instead of the next unread item in the current feed.Error messages are now more clearly displayed.Sign in screen is more user-friendly.The full information and download link are available now to North American users in the Beta Zone at this link. RIM stated that this version will only be available for a limited time so jump on to it if you want it. My guess is they will be pushing this update to the Test Center once it is verified.
Now if only we could get some more features in News Feeds…
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Nokia Was in Talks With RIM Before Choosing Microsoft?

In an interesting rumor coming out of TechCrunch EU we are hearing that Nokia was in talks with Google, Microsoft, AND RIM for an OS platform partnership. As many of you know by now Nokia chose Microsoft and Windows Phone 7 but its kind of interesting that they talked to RIM at all. Unlike Microsoft and Google, RIM actually makes the OS and the phone and, except for a short while with BlackBerry Connect, has never licensed their OS.
In a totally spin around we had Nokia’s CEO call the mobile ecosystem a three horse race with Apple, Google, and Windows Phone forgetting to mention BlackBerrys. This even drew a response from firebrand RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie saying “I don’t know how you can say we are not in the race.” He also answered that RIM is not enterprise focused since 80% of their subscribers are consumers.
Still it is funny to learn that while Nokia was talking with Google and Microsoft they were also talking with RIM. Makes you wonder why they would do that if they are not even in the race…
It is just a rumor but a fun one at that. I just wish RIM would finally get around to announcing and releasing these upcoming BlackBerry Smartphones so that they can bring a figurative gun to a gun fight in the CPU and screen resolution race.
H/T to Dtib!
Another Video of Gaming on the BlackBerry PlayBook
I just cannot get enough of these video demos of Need for Speed and Tetris on the BlackBerry PlayBook. The main thing going through my mind is “I wish my BlackBerry Torch could do that” but still its impressive even for a tablet. Jon let me know that Engadget has a video of EA demoing the two games at MWC that provides some details we have not seen before. The coolest feature that might not ship with the game at launch is the ability to project the game onto HDMI at the same time as you are playing. Very cool for app demos if all apps can do that.
Here are some other things I noted:
Need for speed has over 20 cars in the game with all the major racing names licensedIt also has 3 game modes with 2 specific to the PlayBook platformThe games will be free in all markets not just the US, Canada, and UK like RIM sometimes does.Even though they are showing off the game running in the background while other apps are running that will be an option you can turn on or offLet us know if you spot anything else in the video or even other videos!
